Battery general has 3 types, Flooded (Wet), AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) and GEL.

The flooded wet type battery generally use in automobile vehicle to start the engine. It is slowing facing out due to its maintenance job to top up the water level in the battery when necessary.

Deep cycle lead acid AGM battery is replacing the flooded type because of its maintenance free advantage. Do not restrict charging voltage or current. Suitable for general usage. Generally has a life time of 500 cycle at 50% discharge.

Deep cycle lead acid GEL battery is build for frequent discharge usage with long lasting characteristic. A good GEL battery has a double life cycle compared to AGM battery. Voltage and current charging have to follow strictly to the manufacturer in order to get the long life cycle result. Best selected for solar usage.
